The Department of Physiotherapy in association with the Department of Paediatrics, successfully organized the Autism Awareness Programme at Kadamba Hall, RRMCH. The event was conducted with the aim of spreading awareness and promoting inclusivity under the theme “Autism and Humanity – Every Life Has Value.”
We were honoured to have Mrs. Priya Rao, Director- Projects & Administration, Spastics Society of Karnataka as the Chief Guest. Her talk shed light on understanding autism, early intervention and the importance of empathy and support for children with special needs. Mr. Chand Pasha Sir also addressed the gathering with a meaningful speech, adding depth to the program. Dr. Rajanish, Head of the Department of Paediatrics, also addressed the gathering with an informative speech highlighting the clinical and social aspects of autism and the importance of multidisciplinary care. Dr. P. Balasubramanian, Principal of RRCP, shared his valuable thoughts, encouraging continued efforts in awareness and inclusive practices.
The event was made even more vibrant by the enthusiastic participation of the children, who beautifully showcased their talents, bringing joy and inspiration to everyone present. The Department of Physiotherapy presented a thoughtful skit highlighting key aspects of autism awareness and a dance performance and the Department of Paediatrics contributed an energetic dance performance.
The program witnessed active participation from parents, students and faculty. It was heartwarming to see the happiness and excitement among the children and the positive feedback from parents reflected the success of the event.
Overall, the programme was informative, engaging, and impactful, leaving behind a strong message of acceptance, understanding, and support for individuals with autism.
