RajaRajeswari College of Physiotherapy observes ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Divas or NRI Day 2021’ the 16th of its kind, on 9th January 2021 marking this special day of observance.

Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is a celebratory day observed on 9 January by the Republic of India to mark the contribution of the overseas Indian community towards the development of India and to highlight the contribution of overseas diaspora in the development of the nation. The day commemorates the return of Mahatma Gandhi from South Africa to Mumbai on 9 January 1915.

World Braille Day 2021

RRCP observes ‘World Braille Day 2021’ on 4th January 2021

RajaRajeswari College of Physiotherapy observes ‘World Braille Day 2021’ the third of its kind, on 4th January 2021 marking this special day of observance.

World Braille Day is observed on January 4 every year to mark the birth anniversary of Louis Braille, the inventor of Braille language. Born on January 4, 1809 in France, Braille is credited for developing Braille language for blind and visually impaired people. When he was at France’s Royal Institute for Blind Youth, Braille started working on a system so that visually impaired people can read and write easily.

The first World Braille Day was celebrated on January 4 in 2019 after it got approval from the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) via a proclamation in November 2018.

National Mathematics Day is celebrated every year on December 22 across the nation to recognise and celebrate the works of Srinivasa Ramanujan. It was on this day in 1887, the great Indian mathematical genius Srinivasa Ramanujan was born. This was announced by then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on 26 February 2012 at Madras University, during the inaugural ceremony of the celebrations to mark the 125th anniversary of the birth of the Indian mathematical genius Srinivasa Ramanujan (22 Dec 1887- 26 Apr 1920). He has scaled greater heights in Mathematics excellence globally, before passing away at a young age of 32 years also proving that age has no say in achievements.
