Rajarajeswari College of Physiotherapy, actively participated in the 31st Foundation Day celebrations of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) held on 28 June 2026 at Sree Kanteerava Outdoor Stadium, Bengaluru. Organized in association with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and Dishabodh Foundation, the event featured a Walkathon and the Nasha Mukta Bharat Conclave, promoting a drug-free, healthy, and socially responsible society.
The programme was graced by the Hon’ble Vice-President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, as the Chief Guest and presided over by the Hon’ble Governor of Karnataka and Chancellor of RGUHS, Shri Thaawarchand Gehlot. The event was attended by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri D. K. Shivakumar, Hon’ble Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Justice (Retd.) Shri S. Abdul Nazeer, RGUHS Vice-Chancellor Dr. Bhagavan B. C., along with distinguished academicians, healthcare professionals, and dignitaries.
During the conclave, the Hon’ble Vice-President emphasized the importance of a whole-of-society approach in combating substance abuse and encouraged educational institutions and healthcare professionals to lead the Nasha Mukta Bharat movement through awareness, prevention, research, and community engagement.
Faculty members, Bachelor of Physiotherapy students, and Master of Physiotherapy students of Rajarajeswari College of Physiotherapy enthusiastically participated in the Walkathon and awareness programme. The Department also supported the National Pulse Polio Programme by administering the Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) to a child, reaffirming its commitment to preventive healthcare, public health promotion, community service, and nation-building through healthcare education.
