The Department of Sports Physiotherapy, Rajarajeswari College of Physiotherapy, actively participated in the Kempegowda Run 2026, organized by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) on 27 June 2026 at SM Krishna Road, Challaghatta Metro Station, Bengaluru, as part of the 517th Birth Anniversary (Jayanti) celebrations of Nadaprabhu Sri Kempegowda. The event promoted community health, physical fitness, and active lifestyles.
The event, conducted under the leadership of the Government of Karnataka, promoted physical fitness, healthy living, and community participation through a 10 km Run and 5 km Walkathon.
First-Year Postgraduate students (Sports Physiotherapy), under the guidance of faculty members, provided dedicated Sports Physiotherapy Services to the participants. Their responsibilities included conducting pre-event warm-up sessions, providing on-field injury assessment and first aid, managing minor sports injuries, assisting with post-event recovery through stretching and cool-down exercises, and educating participants on hydration, recovery, and injury prevention.
The programme provided valuable hands-on clinical exposure in sports event coverage while reinforcing the department’s commitment to sports medicine, community service, experiential learning, and the promotion of active and healthy lifestyles.
