As part of the awareness programme, students actively participated in paper presentations and poster presentations, showcasing their knowledge on various aspects of Motor Neuron Disease (MND), including its pathophysiology, clinical features, diagnosis, management, and the role of physiotherapy in rehabilitation. The event served as an excellent platform to enhance awareness, encourage academic discussion, and promote evidence-based learning on this important neurological condition.
The programme concluded successfully with active participation and a renewed commitment to improving awareness and care for individuals living with Motor Neuron Disease.

The resource person for the workshop was Dr. David Arun Kumar J, Director of Advanced Physiotherapy Centre, Bengaluru. He delivered an insightful session on the fundamental principles of dry needling, covering its theoretical foundations, clinical indications, contraindications, safety considerations, and evidence-based applications in physiotherapy practice.
The session provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of dry needling techniques and their role in the management of musculoskeletal dysfunctions and pain conditions. Through interactive discussions and practical demonstrations, participants gained valuable knowledge regarding the integration of dry needling into contemporary physiotherapy interventions.The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, interns, faculty members, and practicing physiotherapists. The interactive nature of the program encouraged active engagement, knowledge sharing, and professional development among the attendees.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the management, dignitaries, resource person, organizing committee, and participants for contributing to the success of the workshop. The program commenced with an inspiring message emphasizing the limitless potential of women and their vital role in fostering inclusive and progressive societies. The session explored the broader meaning of diplomacy, describing it as the ability to build relationships, encourage collaboration, and resolve differences through communication, empathy, and mutual respect.
The speaker highlighted the invaluable contributions of women diplomats and leaders worldwide in advancing healthcare, education, human rights, peace-building, and sustainable development. Special reference was made to pioneering Indian women leaders such as Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit, the first woman and first Asian President of the United Nations General Assembly, and Indira Gandhi, India’s first woman Prime Minister, whose leadership continues to inspire generations.
The session encouraged students to recognize diplomacy as an essential skill in healthcare professions, particularly in physiotherapy, where effective communication, compassion, teamwork, and cultural sensitivity play a crucial role in patient care and community engagement. The program concluded by motivating participants to embrace leadership opportunities and contribute meaningfully towards building healthier and more connected communities.
MPT Sports Sciences students of Rajarajeswari College of Physiotherapy served as On-Field Physiotherapists at the Bengaluru Throwball Premier League (BTPL) 2026, held on 30th and 31st May 2026.They provided sports physiotherapy servicesincluding injury management, taping, and athlete care throughout the tournament.In recognition of their valuable contribution, the students were awarded Certificates of Participation and mementos by the organizers. The event was conducted under the theme “Closing the Survival Gap – Equality in Sickle Cell Diseases.”
The program aimed to create awareness about Sickle Cell Diseaseand the importance of early diagnosis, comprehensive management, and equitable healthcare access.The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Ambreseri, who shared valuable insights on Sickle Cell Disease, emphasizing its epidemiology, challenges in management, and the need for increased public awareness and healthcare support.
As part of the academic activities, students actively participated in poster presentations highlighting various aspects of Sickle Cell Disease. Students also delivered messages on the pathophysiology, clinical features, complications, diagnosisand treatment of the condition. Their presentations reflected a sound understanding of the disease process and its multidisciplinary management.The event provided an excellent platform for knowledge sharing, scientific discussion, and awareness among students and faculty members. It successfully reinforced the importance of education and advocacy in improving the lives of individuals affected by Sickle Cell Disease.

Rajarajeswari College of Physiotherapy students and staffs actively participated in the World Environment Day programme organized by the Department of Community Physiotherapy, on 5th June 2026 at the RRCP Lobby. An awareness programme was conducted on the occasion of World Environment Day to educate participants about environmental conservation, biodiversity, sustainable practices, and the importance of protecting natural resources. The programme aimed to increase awareness among students regarding environmental responsibility and the need to preserve a healthy ecosystem.
The event included plant sampling activities carried out by students and staff members, which focused on the identification and documentation of various plant species within the campus. This activity highlighted the importance of plant biodiversity and encouraged participants to develop a greater appreciation for nature and environmental conservation.Students from BPT and MPT enthusiastically participated in the programme and actively engaged in the activities. Their involvement and commitment towards environmental awareness were highly appreciated.The programme was informative and successful in creating awareness about environmental sustainability and conservation. It enhanced students’ knowledge of biodiversity, environmental protection, observational skills, communication skills, and teamwork through active participation in the plant sampling activity.

Rajarajeswari College of Physiotherapy (RRCP), Bengaluru, observed World Asthma Day 2026 on 15th May 2026 through an awareness programme organized by the Department of Cardio-Respiratory Physiotherapy at the RRCP Lobby.
The programme focused on spreading awareness about asthma prevention, management, respiratory health, and proper inhaler usage, in line with this year’s theme: “Access to Anti-Inflammatory Inhalers for Everyone with Asthma – Still an Urgent Need.”
The event featured an informative skit and poster presentations on topics including healthy airways, inhaler use, physiotherapy management of asthma, and understanding asthma. Faculty members, staff, and students enthusiastically attended and actively participated in the programme. Staff members from the Cardio Department of RRMCH were also invited and attended the event, adding value to the awareness initiative.
The programme was informative and successful in creating awareness about asthma and respiratory health.
