With hearts filled with deep sorrow and profound grief, Rajarajeswari College of Physiotherapy mourns the untimely and heartbreaking demise of Dr. Ketan Bhatikar, an eminent physiotherapist, inspiring leader, and compassionate soul who dedicated his life to the service of society and the advancement of the physiotherapy profession. His sudden passing has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of the physiotherapy fraternity and all those who were inspired by his wisdom, humility, and dedication.
A condolence meeting was conducted in the college in the presence of faculty members, students, and staff to pay heartfelt homage and offer prayers for the departed soul. Floral tributes and moments of silence were observed as a mark of profound respect and remembrance for his invaluable contributions to the profession and society.
The institution extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prays that the Almighty grants eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to his loved ones during this difficult time.

Rajarajeswari College of Physiotherapy students actively participated in the International Guest Lecture and Workshop on Blood Pressure organized by the Department of Physiology, Rajarajeswari Medical College & Hospital, on 12th and 13th May 2026 at the RRMCH Campus, Bengaluru.
The workshop featured renowned international speakers, Dr. Noriko Matsushita from Japan and Mr. Hiroshi Ogawa, Managing Director of Omron Healthcare India, who delivered insightful sessions on precise and accurate blood pressure measurement in clinical practice. The event included informative guest lectures, interactive discussions, and hands-on training sessions that enhanced students’ practical knowledge and clinical skills. Students from 2nd year to 4th year BPT enthusiastically participated in various academic and interactive activities conducted during the program. Their active involvement, teamwork, and performance were highly appreciated, and several students also won prizes and recognition during the event.
The workshop provided an excellent opportunity for physiotherapy students to gain practical exposure, international learning experience, and a deeper understanding of clinical assessment techniques essential in healthcare practice
Rajarajeswari College of Physiotherapy successfully organized “Grandeur Week- May 2026” on 08th May 2026 at the RRCP Campus for the BPT 1st year students. The event was conducted with the aim of providing students a refreshing break from their busy academic schedules and helping them relax, interact, and rejuvenate beyond the classroom environment. The program was filled with exciting activities including fun games, rapid-fire rounds, debates, interactive sessions, and various engaging team activities that encouraged participation, confidence, communication, and teamwork among students. Grandeur Week created a lively and energetic atmosphere on campus, allowing students to bond with their peers, showcase their talents, and enjoy a memorable day of fun and learning.

The session was delivered by Dr. Harish K. S, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry, RRMCH, who served as the resource person for the program. He provided valuable insights into the relationship between stress and pain perception, highlighting key neuropsychological mechanisms involved in pain modulation. The session also emphasized the importance of incorporating psychological perspectives into physiotherapy practice for effective, patient-centred care.
The workshop witnessed active participation from postgraduate students and faculty members, making it highly interactive and clinically relevant. Overall, the program was informative and enriching, enhancing participantsunderstanding of the impact of stress on pain and its implications for improved patient outcomes.

Students from Rajarajeswari College of Physiotherapy (RRCP) actively participated in the World Health Day 2026 program organized by the Department of Community Health Nursing, Rajarajeswari College of Nursing, Bengaluru, under the theme “Together for Health: United with Science” on 22nd April 2026 at Kadamba Hall.A total of 6 students from Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) took part in various academic activities conducted during the program.
A debate competition was organized to promote awareness and critical thinking on current health issues. The participation of RRCP students was highly commendable and appreciated by the organizers and judges.The team of BPT students demonstrated excellent performance and secured the First Prize. Additionally, Vardhaman, 3rd-year BPT student, was awarded the Best Speaker Award for his outstanding communication and presentation skills in the debate.The event provided a valuable platform for interdisciplinary learning, knowledge sharing, and enhancing awareness about global health issues. The achievements of RRCP students reflect their dedication, confidence, and academic excellence.

The conference brought together academicians, clinicians, researchers, and students to discuss advancements in physiotherapy practice, innovation, and technology-driven rehabilitation.
As a proof of Evidence-Based Practice in the Physiotherapy Profession, our MPT first-year student Ms.Bhavana.P.S presented her research paper in the scientific session of Mangalore Physiocon 2026, showcasing academic excellence and active participation in research. The conference was jointly organized by the Department of Studies and Research in Social Work, Dr. M. S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, in collaboration with the Institute of Disability Rehabilitation and Research (IDRR) and the Association of People with Disability (APD).The event focused on promoting inclusive practices and addressing the challenges faced by persons with disabilities across various sectors such as education, healthcare, employment, and community participation. It brought together academicians, researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and students to share knowledge, experiences, and innovative strategies for disability inclusion.
Our students gained valuable insights into interdisciplinary approaches, recent advancements, and practical interventions aimed at creating an inclusive and sustainable society. Rajarajeswari College of Physiotherapy, Bengaluruin association with Mangalore Physiocon 2026 International Physiotherapy Conference, successfully organized a Pre-Conference Workshop on the theme “Movement is Health – Moving to the Next Era through Technology & Autonomy” on 6th April 2026 at Seminar Hall, RRCP. The program was further graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Dr. AyappanV R, Chairman, Board of Studies (UG), Faculty of Physiotherapy, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore who addressed the gathering and shared valuable insights, inspiring the participants. The event commenced with a warm welcome address setting the tone for the day.

Dr. Prem Kumar B N, Principal and Professor, KIMS, who discussed Transformative Approaches with Novel Technologies in the Neurorehabilitation Continuum.
