Rajarajeshwari College of Physiotherapy organised an orientation program in association with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences about HELINET CONSORTIUM SUBSCRIBED ELECTRONIC RESOURCES OF EBSCO on topic “Advancing Physiotherapy Research Through EBSCO” in 4th floor smart classroom, RRMCH. Mr MK Srinivasa was our guest speaker who provided us information regarding the importance and benefits of EBSCO sources for research and academic activities. Faculty members, interns, PG students and UG students attended the program and was benefitted with his training regarding the usage of EBSCO information services.

World cerebral palsy – 2024

RajaRajeswari College of Physiotherapy participated in a special awareness program on role of Physiotherapy and special education in children with Cerebral Palsy.

On 25th oct 2024, on behalf of World Cerebral Palsy Day, RajaRajeswari College of Physiotherapy participated in a special awareness program on role of Physiotherapy and special education in children with Cerebral Palsy organised by Dr Adarsh, HOD, Department of Pediatrics, RRMCH on the theme Uniquely CP. Dr Balasubramanian, Principal, RRCP, faculty members and PG students of RRMCH and RRCPactively participated in the event.
Mr Chand pasha, special educator, Spastic Society of Karnataka along with their team participated and discussed their experiences and challenges in treating children with CP.
Children with cerebral palsy with their parents also attended the event and participated in various cultural programs organised by the committee. They also acknowledge about the treatment approaches and therapy approaches followed by Department of Paediatrics and department of physiotherapy.
 

WORLD STROKE DAY – 2024

Rajarajeswari College of Physiotherapy, Bengaluru organised a symposium in collaboration with Department of Neurology/General medicine on account of WORLD STROKE DAY at Kadamba Hall,RRMCH.
The programme started with welcome speech which was followed by lamp lighting by all the dignitaries Dr. B.Sathyamurthy – Dean, RRMCH, Dr.Praveen Kumar, Medical Superintendent, RRMCH and Dr.M .V. Krishna, HOD, General Medicine RRMCH with their gracious presence .
This year the theme for World Stroke Day was # Greater Than Stroke Active Challenge. The programme was enlighten with talk on ‘’ B.E.F.A.S.T in recognising stroke ‘’ by Dr Shreya, Neurologist ,RRMCH and Dr Madhusudhan , PG student from Dept of General medicine followed with talk on’’ Motor relearning programme in treatment of balance impairments in stroke patients’’ by Dr.Hitha Sherin. U (PT), Lecturer, RRCP.
Later, the PG students of RRCP presented with poster on importance of sports and physical activity in prevention of stroke and inclusion of stroke patients into sports post stroke.
The Staffs, Postgraduate and Undergraduate students of RajaRajeswari College of Physiotherapy and RRMCH enthusiastically participated in this programme and got benefitted.

On Account 0f World Physiotherapy Day 2024 RajaRajeswari College of Physiotherapy organized and conducted Poster Presentation for Undergraduate and Postgraduate students on the theme of World PT Day “LOW BACK PAIN” (MANAGEMENT & PREVENTION) and the event started with various and innovative ideas done by the students. 15 students participated in the presentation. For the judging we invited Dr. Joshua Samuel (Consultant Physiotherapist, Ergonomist & aquatic therapist) Dr. Mahesh (Professor of Orthopedics
RRMCH) & Dr. Vineesh (Professor in Anatomy of RRMCH). The winners were awarded with certificate.

walkathon to create an awareness on management and prevention of low back pain among general population near Rajarajeshwari nagar, Bengaluru.,

On 3 Sep 2024, behalf of World Physiotherapy Day, RajaRajeswari College of Physiotherapy organized walkathon to create an awareness on management and prevention of low back pain among general population near Rajarajeshwari nagar, Bengaluru., considering the theme of World
Physiotherapy Day 2024 “low back pain – the role of physiotherapy in its managements and prevention”. Walkathon took place with participation by staffs and students of RajaRajeswari College of Physiotherapy, starting from Jayanna circle at 4.00 pm and ending in Gopalan arcade mall Rajarajeshwari nagar, Bengaluru at 5.00pm, which was at the stretch of 2 km distance. Walkathon happened with display of banners, placards and distribution of pamphlets related to low back pain, its management and prevention with physiotherapy and ergonomics.
